Buon Viaggio in Italia is a refreshingly authentic introductory textbook for the teaching of Italian to middle and high school students.  It is a stimulating and non-threatening basic Italian course for adult learners as well.  Thirteen comprehensive units within offer a modern and authentic view of Italy as experienced by visiting students who spend a year in Florence. 

The dialogues and narratives reflect real life situations in today’s Italy.  Cultural selections, written both in Italian and English, cover some of the most salient aspects of Italian history, art, music and folklore.  All the regions of Italy are featured with short cultural highlights and typical cuisine.

Grammatical explanations and practice instructions are written in English.  The highly motivating dialogues offer students opportunities to be active participants in learning Italian from the first lesson.  Essential grammar elements are introduced through progressively more challenging activities. Abundant and varied practice is provided for new and previously learned language structures.
